Jemsox x Nottingham Trent University: Inspiring the Next Generation of Fashion Photographers

On Monday, Scott from Jemsox visited Nottingham Trent University to officially launch an exciting new creative collaboration with NTU’s Fashion Photography students.

This live client project marks the beginning of a partnership that brings together British heritage craftsmanship and emerging creative talent - with The British Boot Sock Company collection at its heart.

A Real Luxury Client Brief

Twenty students have been selected to take part in the project. Each will receive a pair of our 100% British wool luxury boot socks and will work to produce a high-end editorial shoot suitable for a fashion magazine feature.

The brief is simple in theory - yet creatively ambitious:

Present The British Boot Sock as a premium-luxury product, rooted in British wool, heritage, and sustainability.

Students are encouraged to think boldly, challenge expectations, and approach the work as they would a real commercial commission. Because that’s exactly what it is.

Jemsox is acting as the client throughout the project, providing feedback, creative direction, and professional insight along the way.

Why British Wool Matters

During Monday’s presentation, Scott introduced students to the story behind Jemsox and the British Boot Sock Company collection.

British wool is more than a material - it represents:

  • Natural sustainability

  • Heritage farming traditions

  • Craftsmanship and durability

  • A connection to the British landscape

For the students, wool is not just texture - it’s narrative. It’s responsibility. It’s identity.

Understanding this story will be central to the success of their creative concepts.

From Classroom to Commercial Reality

Over the next five weeks, students will:

  • Develop and pitch creative concepts

  • Receive client feedback from Jemsox

  • Produce editorial assets

  • Present their finished work

The strongest projects will be exhibited in Nottingham in May, where winners will be announced. The Prestige Winner will also be invited to collaborate on future paid shoots with Jemsox - offering a genuine pathway into the industry.

Investing in Creative Futures

At Jemsox, we believe British craftsmanship and creative talent deserve to be championed together.

This project is about more than socks.
It’s about storytelling.
It’s about material integrity.
It’s about helping young creatives understand how luxury brands truly operate.

We are excited to see how the students interpret British wool through a contemporary editorial lens - and we look forward to sharing the results in the coming months.
