Le Magny in April: Behind the Scenes with British Boot Sock Company

In April, Jemsox travelled to Le Magny, France, to photograph the British Boot Sock Company range - luxury British boot socks designed for comfort, durability, and everyday outdoor wear.

There’s something about spring that softens everything - not just the light, but the pace, the mood, the way things are seen. In April, we travelled to the French countryside to photograph the British Boot Sock Company range by Jemsox, and from the moment we arrived, it felt less like a production and more like stepping into a slower, more considered way of being.

Le Magny is quietly beautiful in a way that doesn’t try too hard. Wide, open fields, fresh green tones, and a stillness that feels increasingly rare. At its heart sits The Priory - an old stone building with just enough wear to remind you of its history, but never in a way that feels staged or romanticised. It’s honest, textured, and lived-in, which made it the perfect setting for what we wanted to capture.

We didn’t want this shoot to feel overly polished. Spring doesn’t lend itself to that, and neither do these socks. Instead, we leaned into what was already there - the softness of the light, the slightly damp grass underfoot, the way everything felt just on the edge of coming to life again after winter.

There’s a natural ease to the British Boot Sock Company range. They’re well made, thoughtfully designed, and built for real use - but they don’t shout about it. Wearing them out in Le Magny, walking across fields or along the Priory’s worn stone paths, they just made sense. Nothing felt forced or overly styled. It all came together in a way that felt genuine.

Some of the best moments weren’t planned. Standing around in between shots, noticing how the light shifted across the stone walls. The sound of footsteps echoing softly through the courtyard. Small details that don’t seem important at the time, but somehow shape everything.

That’s really what this shoot became about - capturing something real. Not just the product, but the feeling of being there. A quiet kind of luxury, rooted in simplicity, craft, and the spaces we move through.

Le Magny gave us that without asking for anything in return. And in that setting, the British Boot Sock Company range didn’t need to be anything other than what it already is - reliable, understated, and made to be worn, wherever you find yourself.
